CALEB HART

All Ages  Licensed Event

  May 27th    $20 + fees

No matter how many changes the music industry experiences, the one thing that always remains is the power of a passionate live show. Caleb Hart has the ability to bring something fresh, honest, and powerful every time he steps on a stage.  A natural born performer since he was a young boy growing up in Trinidad & Tobago, Hart has been taking his music across Canada and around the world to The Caribbean, Australia, USA and New Zealand since 2012. Along with racking up over 1000 shows since, he has also released 5 records and multiple singles, and won prestigious awards from Edmonton Folk Fest, the Western Canadian Music Awards and more. Last Goodbye With MR?E

Hosted by Dok Auk

All Ages Licensed Event

June 10th    $15 + fees

"Last Goodbye"  with MR?E Damn Cantinas, Geo AKA the voice, Kiva Mh, Bioson, HOOD3D KXNG & Harvey Hooch, Brandon Peters, Mickey Whiprek, Brent the butcher. Hosted by Dok Auk  MR?E is a diverse artistic Aries, determined to walk his own path. A sensitive soul with a rough exterior - a mix of Eazy E, Jim Morrison and a touch of Hank Williams - MR?E is authentic to himself and his music is an extension of that. While brutal in the truths shared throughout, his music is also a beautiful demonstration of his passion for his art. The countless hip hop shows are his proof of compassion for young artists. MR?E is many different things - one thing he is not is understood. His Beastie Boys style of rap is underrated and overlooked and although he says it is his last show MR?Es passion for music will never let him stop. In some form we will see his child-like happiness after another successful show

HEARTWOOD

Jack Connolly & Genevieve Charbonneau

All Ages Licensed Event

June 21st    $15 + fees

Honey-soaked folk with a hint of indi and a splash of bluegrass, Heartwood radiates exuberant joy with every delicious song. From the hearth of their rural Pacific northwest homestead Jack Connolly and Genevieve Charbonneau serve up the pulse and passion of their irresistible songs and tasty harmonies.  Their quirky naturalness, endearing humor and raw talent stir affection and warm the blood while their powerful roots draw up a nutrient rich brew of sound bringing warmth and energy to all who gather around the table to listen.

When Jack and Genevieve met in 2018, Jack was a rising country star playing stages with the likes of Tom Cochrane and Colin James, and Genevieve was a homesteading mama who had recently won the BC Songwriting Competition, but as soon as they sang together they knew their lives were changed. Jack offered to record and produce Genevieve’s “Heart is a Tower” album, which went on to make #15 in the NA Folk Charts. Inspired by that project, they cooked up the Heartwood duo, finding immense joy in singing harmonies and playing on each other's songs. They discovered that their witty and honest stage manner was a natural fit and their charisma onstage was soon noticed by audiences. “There’s not many performers who get a second show booked before they’ve even packed up their gear… they both possess a keen sense of humor and an ability to connect with their audience, “ says Mick Sherlock of Qualicum Oceanside Folk Club.  Heartwood welcomes you into their joyful, charming world and delivers a dynamic show with accessible songs that touch on a wide range of human emotion.

Jack and Genevieve are the collective recipients of several Vancouver Island Music Awards, and many songwriting accolades, including an International Acoustic Music Award nomination. Despite this history, they are not jaded "road-weary" musicians; together they possess a freshness and secret sauce that reflects the chemistry that existed between June Carter and Johnny Cash, exuding a charm and energy that is hard not to like. With a live album “Heartwood Live at Blue Grouse”produced in 2020, they are currently concocting their first much-anticipated self-titled studio album.

DANIEL CHAMPAGNE

All Ages  Licensed Event

Sept 11th  $20 + fees

The young Australian virtuoso recently described as ‘the finest guitar player of this generation’ brings his tour back to Canada for the first time in three years!

One reviewer recently wrote “Daniel Champagne exudes a natural ease on stage, as he sings poignant lyrics and beautifully crafted melodies that invariably whisk the heart up with grand romanticism. Coupled with an exhilarating guitar talent that transcends mere acoustic playing to replicate a whole band, Champagne is just magical”

The story goes that the young singer-songwriter and one of a kind guitar virtuoso first picked up his instrument of choice as a 5-year-old following in the footsteps of a musical father. He began writing songs at 12, training classically throughout his teens and performing wherever he could, honing his craft and developing the dynamite live show that he is renowned for today. At 18 he left school, turned professional and hit the road without looking back.

The following decade has seen him release 5 studio albums, tour relentlessly around the globe with upwards of 300 shows per year, play some of the biggest festivals under the sun and share stages with the likes of Tommy Emmanuel, INXS, John Butler, Lucinda Williams, Ani DiFranco, Judy Collins and Rodrigo y Gabriela.  Daniel is now regarded as a leading light in acoustic music, with a firm reputation for dropping jaws, making crowds buzz and breaking guitars wherever he goes!
